Cute Gifts, Coffee Pots, and Jesus
Apr 27, 2026
I got this adorable little travel coffee pot as a gift. You know the kind where you smile and say, “Aw, I love this!”...and then quietly think, When am I ever going to use this?
Well.
Turns out...all-day leadership meetings. Because here’s the thing—I love coffee and drink it all day. But before you get worried about my over-caffeinated soul. I drink decaf. Yes. Decaf.
And before you judge me, just ask yourself: Lisa on caffeine? Maybe not. That would be A LOT.
So decaf it is. But I don’t just drink coffee. I have a system. A little fancy flavor. A little liquid stevia. A very specific ratio that feels borderline scientific.
So now I walk into the all-day leadership meetings carrying...an entire coffee pot. My coworkers just stare like, “Are you... opening a café? Catering our event?"
And I’m like, “No. I’m just prepared.” And maybe... a little high maintenance when it comes to my coffee elixir.
But honestly? That little gift I didn’t think I needed...has become super useful! Here's a picture, and if you think it is adorable and want to order it too (because I know you'll ask)...here's the LINK. It's actually a teapot but I turned it into my coffee pot!
It got me thinking...How often has God already given us what we need for the season we’re walking into ...but we don’t recognize it yet?
That little coffee pot sat unused for a while.
It didn’t make sense—until suddenly, it did. And I wonder how many things in our lives are like that: A conversation. A nudge. A resource. A season of waiting
Things that don’t feel significant in the moment...but are actually preparation in disguise.
God doesn’t scramble at the last minute. He prepares ahead of time. He provides ahead of time. He equips ahead of time. Even when we don’t realize it yet.
Sometimes we live like we’re missing something—like if we just had a little more clarity, a little more strength, or a little more time, then we could step into what God is asking of us. But this verse gently flips that thinking. It reminds us that in Christ, we are not lacking—we are already equipped. Not someday, not eventually... but right now, through knowing Him.
And friend... if you’ve been in a season where you’re wondering,
“Am I too late? Did I miss it?”
That’s exactly why I wrote my new Bible study,
Not One Moment Late: Trusting God’s Timing for Your Life.
Because God doesn’t just give you what you need—
He gives it right on time.
💛 It releases May 5 🎉, and it’s the perfect study to walk into summer grounded, steady, and trusting His timing.
